Shell Omala HD 680
Shell
Omala Oils HD are based on the highest quality synthesized hydrocarbon
fluids (PAO) available. These base fluids, combined with specially
selected additives, offer lubrication performance far superior to that
of gear oils manufactured from conventional petroleum mineral oils.
Shell Omala Oils HD are formally approved by Flender AG.
Omala HD Oil is available in ISO 100, 220, 320, 460 and 680 viscosity grades
Features and Benefits
- Excellent Load Carrying Capacity - Significantly high load carrying capacity caters for extreme operating conditions.
- Superior Lubrication Performance -
Significantly better lubrication performance than that provided by
conventional petroleum mineral oils. Extends component life.
- Excellent Oxidation & Thermal Stability - Resists the formation of the harmful products of oxidation at high operating temperatures.
- Low Pour Point - Effective lubrication at low start-up temperatures.
- Extended Lubricant Life - Longer periods between servicing. Lower maintenance and disposal costs.
- Outstanding Rust and Corrosion Protection - High level of corrosion protection of all metal surfaces.
- Improved System Cleanliness - For clean, efficient and reliable performance.
- Low Traction Coefficients - Due to the low
traction coefficients of PAOs, Omala Oils HD reduce operating
temperatures, extend fatigue lives, improve efficiency and reduce energy
consumption.
Peformance Advantages
- Gear tooth wear reduced under heavy and shock loads
- Oil change frequencies reduced
- Corrosion protection in the presence of contaminants
- Excellent water separation properties
- For use in worm and helical gear boxes that require an EP gear oil
Peformance Benefits
- Improved Equipment Reliability
- Increased Equipment Life
- Improved Operational Efficiency
- Reduced Downtime Costs
- Lower Maintenance Costs

Approvals: Flender AG, ISO 12925-1 Cat. CKT, ANSI/AGMA 9005-D94, US Steel 224, David Brown S1.53 101Applications:
- Enclosed
industrial reduction gear systems particularly those operating under
severe conditions, such as high loads, elevated temperatures, wide
temperature variations and long oil servicing intervals.
- Particularly recommended for certain ‘lubricated-for-life’ systems.
- Plain and rolling element bearings.
- Oil circulation systems.
